Legal basis for the processing of personal data
The processing of the personal data given above is allowed based on the following legal bases in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation:
- Consent of the data subject
- Agreement (if the processing is mandatory in order to conclude and enforce an agreement between Wetteri and the customer)
- Legal obligation
- Public interest (Statistics Finland)
- Legitimate interest of the data controller
Purpose of the processing of personal data
Personal data may be processed in the planning, quality control, development, maintenance and monitoring of Wetteri’s operations. Personal data may also be utilised in the management, development and analysis of transactions related to the customer relationship or other appropriate connection.
In addition, the partners of the data controller may have a limited right to use the data for the aforementioned purposes in the context of their own business, for example, for the development and implementation of various common services, concepts and business models.
In warranty repairs, service operations and other similar operations where subcontractors are used, the subcontractors are given the data necessary for performing their duties.
Personal data is also utilised in advertising, marketing, direct marketing and targeted marketing. However, communication identification data is only used with the customer’s consent. The customer has the right to prohibit targeted direct marketing.
Personal data we may collect of you
The customer’s name, date of birth, gender, language, address and telephone number, marketing permissions and bans, and the customer’s social security number, if necessary. The data content also includes the make, model, registration number and serial number of the customer’s car as well as other vehicle identification information needed for the management of the customer relationship.
Information concerning the customer relationship and agreements, such as credit application information, debt collection information, bank information (purchase of vehicles), and any information concerning the customer’s credit standing and special terms of agreement. Information concerning customer due diligence required by the Act on Preventing Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (444/2017).

Data is collected and maintained in connection with regular business activities and communication with contact persons as well as when the customer provides information for the customer register electronically or in writing.
Personal data may also be collected, stored and updated from data controllers providing services the data pertains to.

Disclosure of data
The data controller may have external operators conduct research and customer satisfaction surveys based on the personal data collected and update the customer data with data acquired from public registers.
The data in the register may be disclosed to the importer or factory manufacturing the car make in question for purposes of warranty, service, sales, or maintenance and safety. As a rule, personal data is not transferred outside the EU or EAA without the data subject’s consent. An encrypted connection is used to transfer the data.
We disclose your data to the operators specified below. We only share your personal data to the extent necessary for the provision of services and implementation of quality control.
In an emergency or under other unexpected circumstances, Wetteri may be forced to disclose the personal data of data subjects in order to protect a person’s life or health and property.
In addition, Wetteri may be forced to disclose the personal data of data subjects, if a Wetteri Group company is involved in legal proceedings or other dispute settlement proceedings.
If Wetteri is a party in a merger, asset acquisition or other M&A transaction, it may be forced to disclose the personal data of data subjects to third parties.

Protection of personal data
Personal data is stored and processed confidentially, and only Wetteri personnel who need the data to perform their work duties are granted access to the customer data system. Unauthorised access to the register has been prevented by effective physical and technological protective measures.
Right to access data
The data subject has the right to request the rectification of inaccurate information recorded of them in the register by contacting the data controller. Under the Personal Data Act, the data subject has the right to know which information has been recorded of them in the register. The request to access data is submitted to the technical contact person of Wetteri. The data subject has the right to access and inspect their data free of charge once a calendar year.
